Healthy Holiday Hibiscus Tea Recipe

Make your parties colorful with a bright flash of RED HIBISCUS teas. Naturally delicious and very quenching, Hibiscus flower teas has been the latest craze with parties, bars and tea shops across the country.
Hibiscus tea, made from dried parts of the hibiscus plant, is dark red in color. It has sweet yet tart flavors, similar to cranberry, and may be consumed hot or iced. Health benefits are huge. Hibiscus tea studies have shown that it may help reduce blood pressure, cholesterol levels and aid in weightloss. Share it with your guests with the following recipe.

Iced Holiday Hibiscus Tea
Serves: Makes 2 quarts
Ingredients
-2 quarts water
-1 cup sugar, honey, or agave syrup (or as much as you’d like, to taste)
-1 ounce dried food-grade hibiscus blossoms (about 1/2 cup)
-1 ounce fresh ginger, finely chopped (about 2 tablespoons)
-Juice of 1 lime
-Add strawberries and blueberries for Holiday Color
Instructions
Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Remove the pan from the heat and add the sugar, hibiscus and ginger. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
Cover and let cool to room temperature then strain into a large pitcher. Stir in the lime juice and refrigerate until chilled. Serve cold over ice. Add your favorite shot of liquor to raise the cocktails for a Red, White and Blue Twist for the HOLIDAY!
